Maganlal Dresswalla "Indias Leading Costumiers" , the pioneer in supplying costumes & accessories to the Indian film industry was established in the year 1926, almost a hundred years ago. In the early 30"s, when there were only stage shows like the "RAMLEELA" where even the girl characters were enacted by men, since then the company had started its niche in this industry. When silent and talkie movies were unheard of, Maganlal Dresswalla had provided costumes for the first ever talkie movie "Alam Aara" in the history of Indian Movies.

The company was established by Mr. Harilal Dresswalla and named after his older brother, Maganlal. Mr. Harilal had provided costumes for innumerable films. After he passed away, his reign of giving service to our Indian film industry was carried forth by his son, Mr. Suresh H Dresswalla. Since last 45 yrs, he continuesto make his contribution to the entertainment industry by providing for films, serials, events, shows.

Since then, Maganlal Dresswalla has provided costumes for inneumerable films and tele serials , the older and more popular ones being " AALAM AARA" , Navketan's "ROTI KAPDA AUR MAKAN", Devanand starring" JEWEL THIEF", Manoj Kumar's VIP Productions's "KRANTI", Soharab Modi's first Eastman Coloured Movie of India , "JHANSI KI RANI", K. Asif's "MOUGHLE – E – AZAM", Pushpa Pictures's" TAJ MAHAL", "KOHINOOR " , Shahi Kapoor's "Ajooba" to name just a few , to more recent ones being,Ashutosh Govarikar's "Lagaan","Jodha Akbar", Sunrise films," Mangal Pandey", Ketan Mehta's "Rang Rasiya "and many more. Besides moives , Maganlal Dresswalla has also provided all costumes & accessories for the classic serial MAHABHARATA by Ravi Chopra, DISCOVERY OF INDIA by Shyam Benegal, Sagar Arts "LORD KRISHNA", Sanjay Khan's "TIPU SULTAN",DR. ChandraPrakash's " CHANAKYA", Ashoka's costume for N.T Ramarao in "ASHOKA THE GREAT", Sunil Aghnihotri "Jai Ganesha " , Shakti shori "YUG" and many more. Maganlal Dresswalla has also been supplying costumes internationally for various films over the years like Kabir Bedi's "SAMARKAND", King Brother Production's SONNET, For an American Television production house over 150 costumes were made from the famous Indian comic CHANDAMAMA for a serial there, german film ," HEXE-LILLI",for "MISSIOn-IMPOSSIBLE 4" and "LIFE OF PIE". Over a decade ago, Maganlal Dresswalla has also been into Mascot Designing Manufacturing and has had the opportunity to make mascots for various renowned companies like Microsoft, Ultra Movies, BBC London, Glaxo Pharama, Mcdonalnds, IPLMatches to name just a few. Maganlal Dresswalla has also had the opportunity to design and manufacture the wedding attire for the PRINCE of Uganda , for his Royal Wedding .
